Personally, I believe that a Wedding is the union of a man and a woman to form a nuclear family. This has been the tradition from the beginning of creation. However, as with everything in the 21st century, marriage ceremony has evolved.

A wedding is the ceremony in which two people are united in marriage or a similar institution. Wedding traditions and customs vary greatly between cultures, ethnic groups, religions, countries, and social classes. Most wedding ceremonies involve an exchange of wedding vows by the couple, presentation of a gift (offering, ring(s), symbolic item, flowers, money), and a public proclamation of marriage by an authority figure or leader. Special wedding garments are often worn, and the ceremony is sometimes followed by a wedding reception. Music, poetry, prayers or readings from religious texts or literature are also commonly incorporated into the ceremony.

Regardless of cultural background or class, when a couple is getting married, there is always the excitement from both sides of the families most particularly the bride. Most brides dream of a fairy tale marriage. The union brings joy as well as stress financially and emotionally. The best way to having a stress-free marriage is to plan.

I have always considered marriage as the most interesting event of one’s life, the foundation of happiness or misery.

Planning a nuptial requires a lot of time and effort, so I will say seek the help of professional wedding planners. It is their job to take the stress away from you so that you can concentrate on how to look your best on the day. If you are planning to have a big marriage ceremony like the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, then you must have a lot of money because it will cost you. Alternatively, you can opt for a low-key modest ceremony like that of Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg. Weddings however small still require the purchase or loan of accessories.

The most used items for a marriage ceremony regardless of its size are:

  • wedding rings
  • bridal dress
  • suit for the groom
  • bouquet
  • shoes
  • cake
  • jewellery, and the list continues.

As well as the bride and groom, the wedding guests need to be prepared to look their best without of course outshining the couple.
